Our mission is to design and produce products for people who demand that fashion to be functional. Our line meets strict standards of design, quality and durability demanded by paddling. Being paddlers ourselves, we saw the need to apply the passion we bring to kayak design and production to accessories and apparel. We design kayaks with the recreational paddler in mind. Easy to paddle but offering performance features to challenge the aspiring enthusiast, our designs afford years of enjoyment. 

Rotomolding
RTM kayaks are manufactured by rotomolding technique. Polyethylene powder is poured into a sealed mould that rotates on several axes in an oven. The melting polyethylene spreads throughout the surface of the mould. Computer-controlled rotation programs correspond to a specific model of kayak. These programs ensure that areas of a kayak most subject to stress receive thicker coats of polyethylene. Once out of the oven, the cooling process is crucial in the production of a high quality plastic kayak.  

Materials

Compound + is a high density polyethylene (PEHD), virtually indestructible under normal use. We choose premium material for durability. Compound + properties allow excellent consistency in molding and wall thickness. Polyethylene is also very abrasion-resistant, but in the event you scratch or gouge your RTM Kayak, it’s repairable. In addition, Compound + has UV inhibitors to protect your kayak against sun damage and gives depth of colors that extends the life of your boat. By making kayaks using polyethylene, RTM is able to provide a great product at an affordable price.

Tri-lam technology is the ideal process for kayak, where performance is key. Technology allows us to produce a stiffer and lighter craft than traditional single layer boat. Incredibly rigid, the 3 layers sandwich is made of a low-density closed cell PE core covered on both side with high density PE.

Your boat is not going to last forever. Sooner or later, it'll break, crack or wear out. And you'll have to get rid of it. But it's made of plastic so landfill is just not an option. Give it to us and we'll recycle it. We use recyclable plastic. RTM kayaks not only perform well on the water, they are environmentally friendly.
